Our main task is to prepare weekly chronic medications for residents in Custom Systems Dispensing (CSD). These CSD are daily updated with any changes that may occur (dose adjustments, ending of treatment, initiation of new treatments, etc).
With the resident’s permission, we manage everything that has to do with their medication:
- Weekly replenish the stock of each resident’s medication
- Request for recipes to the primary care physician
- Visa for drugs or products that require prior authorization to be supplied (diapers, medicines for the treatment of Alzheimer’s, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, etc)
- Request prescription pads for residents belonging to private mutual companies. (ASISA, MUFACE).
We revise treatments for possible interactions or adverse reactions, and we work together with the nursing and the medical team , meeting regularly to reassess residents pharmacotherapy.
Usually, to treat health problems requires the use of any medication. Drugs are to improve health problems and not to cause any adverse reaction. Our medical professional team will supervise the pharmaceutical process.
